John Terry showcases his coaching skills in analysis; proves he should be on Chelsea coaching staff

I have no idea why Chelsea legend John Terry is not on the first team coaching staff at the club, it’s just absolutely bizarre.

He works within the academy setup, but he’s never moved into a senior coaching role at the club he clearly loves so much. Terry is Chelsea through and through and is also one of the best centre backs to ever play the game and also, the best captain Chelsea have ever had in my opinion.

Bringing him into the first team coaching setup just seems like such a no brainer and something that Terry would clearly love to be doing. But it hasn’t happened, and nobody can put there finger on why it hasn’t happened.

Terry himself has proven that he knows what he is talking about, and he has done that through analysing recent Chelsea games on his TikTok account, with a tactics board and everything.

This week, he was analysing the Chelsea and Crystal Palace game, honing in on Trevoh Chalobah.

Terry has been quick to point out how important Trevoh Chalobah was for Chelsea’s second goal against Crystal Palace, stating on his TikTok how he got everything started in the build-up for Joao Pedro’s strike.

He said: “I spoke yesterday on the importance and the great work from Trevoh for our second goal. Real simple, basic defending, but I think he’s been so good over the last two or three years.

“Look at his distances the whole way. His distances are absolutely perfect, and what I love about this clip more importantly, he keeps Mateta on the outside of him always. As a defender, you never wanna be too far on the outside and let the defender roll inside. Trev’s got him.

“Manages to just nick the ball from him, but what I love about this after. Touch out your feet, finds that great ball forward, and then we get the magic. What a ball this is from Estevao, forward runners with Enzo, and a great bit of magic from Joao Pedro.

“That all starts from Trevoh, and no one really notices that.”
