Jonathan David, Dusan Vlahovic, Lois Openda – who deserves to be Juventus’ main striker? | OneFootball

Juventus have three strikers of substantial acclaim and quality but the goals have not been coming. Unless Kenan Yildiz is up to his usual magic, the Bianconeri look bereft of ideas or ability to trouble opposition defences, as demonstrated in the 0-0 draw against Milan.

Jonathan David started the game and the Canadian looked nowhere near troubling Mike Maignan, even making an absolute mess of a sitter. He has 1 goal in 7 appearances for the club since signing in the summer, a concerning tally for a starting striker.

Dusan Vlahovic is Juve’s highest scorer this season with 4. He started the season on fire after all the transfer drama in the summer but has seemingly slowed down of late. That being said however, it seems difficult to argue against the fact that he should perhaps be Igor Tudor’s starter up front, when Juventus return from the international break.

Then there is the case of Lois Openda. Signed at the fag end of the window, there has been nothing to show why they brought him in or that Tudor has much faith in him. To be fair to the Belgian, he hasn’t had too many minutes to show his calibre but zero goal contributions so far is hardly doing anything to propel him up the pecking order.
