Jordan James is touch and go for Leicester City’s match with Swansea at the King Power Stadium this weekend, with Gary Rowett weighing up his involvement.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the top scorer missed both Easter fixtures after suffering a heel injury on Wales duty, then aggravated the problem during a fitness test last week.
Rowett said on Thursday that James had returned to training and would be assessed before a decision is made on Friday. He is hopeful James might feature, but if he does not Rowett says he will be 100 per cent ready for Portsmouth next Saturday.
The manager described the issue as heavy bruising to the heel, painful when planting the foot, decelerating or landing. He added there is no point risking the player until that discomfort clears, noting such problems can be unpredictable.
Aaron Ramsey has had an injection as he continues to wait for a first appearance of 2026 after a hamstring injury in last year’s final game. He is not in contention for Swansea but could return against Portsmouth if he completes a good week of training.
Rowett reported no fresh major concerns, though a couple of players picked up minor knocks in Thursday’s session and will be monitored.
