Leeds United remain in for Jorgen Strand Larsen as Monday's 7pm deadline nears. The January window closes in February, but the cut-off is coming fast.
According to Leeds Live, an opening offer has been rejected and Wolves are said to want around £40m, which could require a club-record outlay. There is still a long way to go.
Leeds have made one signing this month and Daniel Farke’s criteria are unchanged. A purchase before sales ahead of 30 June would be risky given spending limits.
Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace also hold interest and have stronger PSR positions, though their managerial situations are less secure. The player’s agent is a Leeds supporter. Wolves would prefer cash now, though an initial loan with an obligation to buy could be an avenue.
United are prepared to end the window without a striker if the right opening does not arise. Alternatives exist, but late moves are hard unless talks have been kept quiet. Loans are viewed as likelier given the financial posture.
Joel Piroe is not pushing to leave and the club respect his stance, with enquiries made but none advancing as it stands. Whether a new striker would change that remains to be seen.
Left-back is a secondary focus and links to Ben Chilwell are inaccurate. Gabriel Gudmundsson remains first choice, with James Justin and Sam Byram offering cover, while Farke is mindful he lacks a left-footed back-up after Jack Harrison’s loan to Fiorentina.
