Jorgen Strand Larsen (25) will remain part of Wolves’ plans this weekend despite continued speculation over his future, with head coach Rob Edwards confirming the striker will be included in the squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Norway international has been linked with a move away from Molineux during the January transfer window, with Crystal Palace among the clubs monitoring his situation. However, Edwards played down the impact of the rumours, insisting Strand Larsen has trained well and remains fully involved.
“He’s trained, and he will be part of the squad,” Edwards said, speaking to the media. “He’s trained really well, so there’s no reason not to include him.” When asked about the status of Palace’s interest, Edwards was non-committal, stressing his focus remains firmly on Wolves.
The 25-year-old’s availability comes at a critical moment for a side still rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, albeit buoyed by a recent upturn in results that has yielded nine points from their last six matches. Edwards acknowledged the importance of strengthening the squad before the window closes but underlined the need for the right profiles rather than short-term fixes.
“We want people who can make a difference,” he said. “For now and for the future, whatever that may hold.”
There was further encouragement for Wolves with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde set to return after a hamstring injury, while defender Ladislav Krejci remains a doubt after missing training with flu.
