Jorginho of Flamengo has criticised pop singer Chappell Roan and her team over what he says was the treatment of his 11-year-old daughter at a São Paulo hotel. The player said in a social media post that a member of the singer’s security confronted his wife and child at breakfast with extremely aggressive language, told them not to disrespect or harass others, that his daughter, a fan, had only looked at Roan as she passed their table to check it was her, and that without her fans the artist would be nobody.

The American artist is scheduled to headline on Saturday, the second day of Lollapalooza Brasil.

Roan, 25, is regarded as one of pop’s rising stars.

In 2025 she won Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards.

She finished ahead of Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims and Benson Boone.
