Jorginho reveals soap-opera habit as Flamengo turn to Copa do Brasil | OneFootball

Jorginho has revealed an unlikely off-field habit. The Flamengo midfielder, who joined in June 2025 after terminating his Arsenal contract, loves watching soap operas.

"I really have a relationship with soap operas, everyone teases me and jokes, but it is something I have always watched since I was little and it kept me connected with Brazil when I was abroad," Jorginho said. He was speaking to Conmebol.

"It is something I enjoy, I like it, I find it interesting. I had to wait for the next day for the episode to appear, I was always a day behind, I did not even open social media so I would not see what had happened."

On the pitch, he has become one of the captains and a key figure in Leonardo Jardim’s side.

He has made 46 appearances for Flamengo, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. He has also lifted the Libertadores, the Brasileirão and the Carioca.

With Jorginho available, Flamengo now turn to the Copa do Brasil. They visit Vitória at Barradão on Thursday 14 at 21:30 Brasília time, the second leg of the fifth phase.
