La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been credited with an interest in a member of the goakeeper ranks at Portuguese outfit Benfica.
This comes amid the understanding that José Mourinho is a keen admirer of the talents of Anatoliy Trubin.
Shot-stopper Trubin is for his part fresh off another impressive individual campaign on the books of the aforementioned Benfica. Under the watch of Mourinho, the Ukrainian acted as no.1, en route to a hefty 50 appearances across all competitions.
And along the way, Trubin seemingly did enough to convince his manager of his readiness to make the jump to one of European football’s top clubs.
As per a report from Portuguese outlet A Bola (as cited by Sport Witness), Real Madrid have pencilled the 24-year-old in as a potential future signing.
Under the advice of the club’s new head coach, Trubin has been earmarked as both a long-term replacement for Thibaut Courtois, and an immediate replacement for Andriy Lunin, in the case of the latter opting to move on in search of more regular game time.
Los Blancos are far from the only ones interested, though, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa also keeping a close eye on developments in Lisbon.
