Jose Mourinho has held an initial video call with Real Madrid, setting out terms for a possible return, ESDiario reports, a claim backed by Ramon Alvarez de Mon.
Mourinho said last Friday he had not spoken to the club. The Benfica manager has one year left on his contract and has been backed as the favourite to replace Alvaro Arbeloa this summer, with Florentino Perez in favour of a second stint.
The report says Mourinho wants a two-year deal, full control over team selection and to bring in seven trusted coaches. Perez has supposedly proposed adding Arbeloa to that group.
Fitness coach Antonio Pintus would depart, and Mourinho seeks a direct line to the medical department. He also wants Perez as his sole point of contact, not adviser Anas Laghrari or general manager Jose Angel Sanchez.
Mourinho also wants control of pre-season planning, aiming to avoid taxing tours to the Middle East or North America. He intends to trim the squad, potentially by as many as seven players, though no names are specified. Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal are out of contract, while Dani Ceballos is expected to leave, and Fran Garcia, Eduardo Camavinga, Franco Mastantuono, Gonzalo Garcia and Raul Asencio are not guaranteed spots next season.
