José Mourinho has confirmed Rafa Silva will play for Benfica against Estrela da Amadora in Liga Betclic matchday 19, scheduled for 18:00 on Sunday, 25 January.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Benfica head coach discussed the player in his pre-match press conference, mixing humour with praise and referencing their personal rapport.

He highlighted the player's experience of Benfica and value across the attacking line, adding that he expects him to be an asset despite a recent lay-off.

He cautioned that no one should expect miracles, noting the player has not featured for months and has trained individually, though he has made himself available and has no history of muscle injuries.

Mourinho even joked that his parking space at the club had long doubled as Rafa's during the player's previous spell, and that returning to the stadium feels like coming home.

This season with Besiktas, Rafa Silva played 16 competitive matches, 10 in the Turkish league, four in the Europa Conference League and two in Europa League qualifying, totalling 1,360 minutes with five goals and three assists. He is valued at five million euros.
