Real Madrid’s transfer moves this summer have been extremely targeted and aimed at a central plan.

Jose Mourinho, since taking over, has been taking all the calls and has significantly strengthened the defence in a matter of weeks.

The midfield, which was the team’s Achilles Heel last season, is seen as the next priority and the club are already moving strongly in the transfer market.

AS (h/t The Madrid Zone) brings to light the overall plan Mourinho has in mind.

Changes to the core

As reported by the Spanish outlet, the one player seen as the central point of the midfield plans is Jude Bellingham and the England international will continue being the player around whom the midfield will be constructed.

The second player who will certainly remain in the team as a key component of the department is Federico Valverde. Despite how the season ended for him, he will stay at the club and will be key in Mourinho’s dynamics.

One sale, however, will be made from the existing players and it will be one of Aurelien Tchouameni or Eduardo Camavinga.

One of the two Frenchmen will leave the club this summer, with the signs pointing more towards Camavinga being the player set to leave.

A big signing to arrive

In addition to the changes to the existing players, the Spanish outlet also stress that one big signing will be made in midfield and three candidates stand out as options.

Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea’s marquee player, is the first and top option for Los Blancos, but the massive fee demanded by the English side is a limiting factor.

World Cup sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi is the second option Real Madrid are considering, and they even sent a delegation to watch the player in action in his recent World Cup outing.

The final option on their radar is Mateus Fernandez, but some doubts persist as to whether the player is the right fit for the team’s dynamics.

He enjoyed a great campaign with West Ham last season and saw his market value shoot up, and his employers are now demanding a €90 million fee for his signing.

In recent hours, however, Tottenham Hotspur have taken massive strides towards his signing and Real Madrid must act fast if they are to get back into pole position.
