Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has assured that he is in the ‘best physical condition in a long time’ ahead of El Clasico, as he looks to be a difference-maker against Barcelona again. The England international has also given his view on how to beat the Catalan giants.

Los Blancos head into the game as mild favourites in Spain, as Barcelona struggle with injuries, but must stop a four-game losing streak. Bellingham is expected to be in the starting XI for the big game.

“It’s incredible. For a player, there’s no better setting than this stadium for a big match. I’ve experienced it many times, but you never get used to it. Every time you step onto the pitch, your skin crawls: the tifos, the chants… you know you’re in for a big night. I hope we can repay all the energy the fans give us,” he told RMTV via (MD) ahead of the game.

Jude Bellingham fully fit again after shoulder operation

Bellingham struggled to replicate the impact of his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu last year, looking increasingly worn down physicall, in no small part due to a shoulder injury that had been causing him pain. The 22-year-old returned last month after having surgery on it in July.

“I feel very good and happy. Finally back on the pitch. In the last few games before the break, and then against Getafe and Juve, I started to feel better, closer to my level. I’m strong and positive, probably in the best physical condition I’ve been in a long time. I’m ready to contribute and give whatever it takes for the team to win and continue the momentum they’d already created while I was away. I hope I can continue playing well, enjoying myself, and winning.”

Bellingham outlines keys to beating Barcelona

Ahead of the Clasico, much of the focus is on Barcelona’s high line, and the tactical battle. Xabi Alonso has dropped some hints at how he wants his side to play, but Bellingham explained that the key would be the mental side of the match.

“A very important part is managing the match, the moment, emotions, and certain details that make all the difference. Last year, when we found ourselves behind in some matches, it affected us too much, and we let the game slip away. Now it’s about staying mentally stable throughout the 90 minutes. Tactically, we know how they play and how we want to play. So the key is managing the rest well: the nerves, the pressure, the atmosphere… which will be huge. It’s these details that can make the difference.”
