Current and past members of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week sent messages of support and congratulations the way of Lucas Vázquez.

This, of course, comes after the Spanish international found for himself a new club.

Versatile full-back Vázquez brought a close to his career-long stint on the books of Real Madrid earlier this summer.

As much came after those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu opted against offering the 34-year-old an extension to his expiring contract terms.

Vázquez, in turn, went on to become a free agent.

Early this week, though, the former winger found a new home for himself for the next two seasons.

Vázquez has put pen to paper on terms with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen, under the recommendation of Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso.

And as alluded to above, in the aftermath of his move being confirmed, two former teammates have moved to reveal their delight for the experienced defender.
