Juventus have finally put a bow on their never-ending chase of Randal Kolo Muani and have suddenly swooped in for Kerim Alajbegovic as well, striking a deal with Bayer Leverkusen, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).
The Bianconeri are adding the Frenchman on an initial loan with a €38M obligation to buy, plus €7M easy bonuses and €5M harder ones. He’ll pocket around €5M and will take the medicals this week. He notched 10 goals and 3 assists in 22 matches during his previous stint in Turin.
Juventus didn’t stop at Kolo Muani, as they barged into the race for Alajbegovic and overtook Chelsea and Atalanta. They came to terms with Bayer Leverkusen on a €30M fee plus €5M add-ons.
The Bianconeri offered an immediate regular role, while the Blues had proposed a loan elsewhere. Their new director, Frederic Massara, talked frequently with his camp, which comprises Miralem Pjanic, while he was at Roma.
Not often sagas this long have a positive resolution, but they pretty much had to do it at any reasonable sum, considering how much time and energy they put into pursuing him. The fee will be fine if he performs like in 2024/2025, not so much if he fares like at Tottenham and PSG.
As for the starlet, they had been suspiciously quiet after their early attempts for Brahim Diaz. The delays and the bidding war drove up his price tag but a good €10/15M. Still, he’s super young and addresses a glaring need. It’ll be interesting to see who will be the no.10 when he and Kenan Yildiz feature together. Massara and his contacts are proving to be quite the asset.
