The “dream destination” of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been revealed amidst reports that Manchester United are eyeing him ahead of next summer.
During the summer transfer window, signing a striker was a top priority for United and they achieved this, securing the services of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
However, Sesko was not the only player on United’s wishlist. There were other targets, including Vlahovic.
Juventus were looking to offload the Serbian all summer and it’s believed they even offered him to United. The Red Devils declined.
Vlahovic has started the 2025/26 campaign in fine form, notching four goals and one assist in four appearances across Serie A and the Champions League. He is poised to be available as a free agent next summer and his early performances have seemingly alerted a number of clubs to his imminent availability.
A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are among three clubs, alongside Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, already plotting a move for him next summer.
However, it appears that the trio are set to be disappointed, with Vlahovic believed to have his heart set on a switch to Real Madrid.
According to Fichajes, Vlahovic is an “unbeatable market opportunity” for Los Blancos, who are looking to beef up their attacking department.
The news outlet notes, “Real Madrid’s interest in the player is nothing new. Last summer, there were already contacts with Vlahovic’s entourage and Juventus itself, but the Italian club refused to negotiate.”
“However, circumstances have changed: the Old Lady has been unable to convince the striker to renew, and his desire to try his luck in a different league remains strong. For the player, the Spanish League and the white shirt represent a dream destination.”
Madrid want Vlahovic to provide cover for Kylian Mbappe and occasionally, to line up alongside the World Cup winner. Xabi Alonso values his finishing and ability to pin down defenders.
The Spanish giants recognise the fierce competition for Vlahovic’s signature, but believe they hold an edge, offering not only a “solid sporting project” but also the attraction of a renovated stadium and the chance to play alongside stars like Mbappe.
Madrid are expected to “intensify” their pursuit of Vlahovic over the next few months.
