Juventus Flop Involved in Talks with Manchester United | OneFootball

Juventus and Manchester United have been negotiating for Jadon Sancho, and Douglas Luiz could eventually become part of the deal. The Bianconeri need to act quickly because, while Fenerbahce have moved on, he has a few suitors.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto (via SOSFanta), the dialogue between clubs has been productive. The Red Devils want a permanent sale for around €25M. The Bianconeri could get there, with or without a makeweight. Instead, his wages are a problem.

Even if Douglas Luiz won’t be part of the Sancho deal, his future is unlikely to be at Juventus. Their new brass informed his camp that they would listen to the offers and advised him to seek a new home.

As a possible replacement, the Old Lady has inquired about Morten Hjulmand, who moved to Sporting CP last year after a successful run at Lecce. However, the Portuguese team paid €20M, and they demand at least double that sum to let him go.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Chelsea loanee and Francisco Conceiçao are mutually exclusive. The Turin-based side aims for a discount on the latter’s €30M release clause.

It won’t be tough to reach an agreement with Manchester United, while personal terms are a different matter. They are furthering the talks, so they must believe they have a chance despite the legitimate doubts. It’ll be tough to recoup what they invested in the ex-Aston Villa man, and a swap would soften the blow. If he does go, adding somebody who could really deputize and preferably challenge Manuel Locatelli wouldn’t hurt. Hjulmand would be that, but he’s probably too pricey.
