Reports on Sunday morning claim that Juventus and Olympique de Marseille have a verbal agreement in place over the sale of USMNT forward Timothy Weah after an increased offer from the Ligue 1 side.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Marseille have an agreement in place to sign Weah on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy at a later date.

Sunday’s report claims that Marseille will pay Juventus a fee of €1m to bring the 25-year-old on board for the 2025-26 season, and that they will then pay a further €14m plus up to €3m in bonuses to make the move permanent.

The agreement comes despite recent reports that Marseille were reluctant to improve upon their recent offer of €13m to buy Weah outright.

Juventus general manager Damien Comolli has recently admitted that Weah ‘wants to join Marseille’ but that nothing could be done until an appropriate offer came in.

Weah, who has spent the majority of his senior career in Ligue 1 with PSG and Lille, had also turned down the opportunity to join Nottingham Forest in the Premier League earlier this summer.
