The talented shot-stopper is regarded as ‘one of the best talents in Europe‘, and it is no surprise that clubs are joining the race to sign him.
The Yorkshire outfit have reportedly agreed personal terms with Suzuki and are now looking to finalise a deal with Parma.
However, their pursuit has been complicated by Juventus. They have officially entered the race for Suzuki, expressing a strong interest in keeping him in Serie A.
Suzuki’s string of outstanding World Cup performances for Japan en route to a last-32 exit against Brazil have raised his profile.
The Bianconeri are in the market for a new goalkeeper. Adding intrigue to the situation is the recent business between Juventus and Parma.
Juventus have just finalised the permanent sale of their 21-year-old academy graduate goalkeeper, Giovanni Daffara, to Parma for a fee of €6 million plus add-ons.
Parma’s significant investment in Daffara is a clear move to prepare for life after Suzuki.
While Daffara’s arrival addresses Parma’s long-term succession plan, it also opens a direct channel for negotiations between the Allianz Stadium hierarchy and Parma.
Parma are holding out for a premium fee of around €30 million to part ways with Suzuki.
While Leeds are ahead of Aston Villa in the race to sign him, Juventus’ influence and their strong relationship with Parma could be decisive in turning the tide.
