Victor Osimhen appears increasingly unlikely to join Juventus this summer, as talks between Napoli and Galatasaray over a permanent deal for the Nigerian striker have advanced, according to Tutto Juve and Turkish media reports. Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu is reportedly set to arrive in Italy to negotiate directly with Napoli, who remain firm on their €75 million release clause.
Galatasaray, determined to secure Osimhen after a successful loan spell, seem prepared to meet Napoli’s price, albeit requesting to spread payments over three years. Napoli, for their part, are holding out for a full guarantee of the fee, making the Turkish club the frontrunner. Despite persistent approaches from Saudi Arabian sides, Osimhen continues to show his commitment to Galatasaray and has turned down proposals from the Gulf in favor of staying in Europe.
These developments diminish Juventus’s hopes of landing Osimhen, who had featured prominently on their attacking shortlist. Napoli's stance has been uncompromising; according to reports, they rejected a previous Juventus bid in excess of €60 million, consistently directing all suitors to the €75 million clause. At this stage, no signs point to a change in attitude from either club.
For Juventus, this setback makes alternatives increasingly urgent. The club has already secured Jonathan David, while negotiations for Jadon Sancho are reportedly nearing completion. With Dusan Vlahovic’s future at the club still uncertain amid reported tension over contract terms and a possible move away from Turin, strengthening the forward line remains a pressing concern.
Feedback from within Italian football circles underscores Osimhen’s perceived value. Former professionals and pundits have described the Nigerian as a difference-maker who could have brought a new dimension to Juventus’s attack. Still, with Napoli’s resolve and Galatasaray’s determination, the likelihood of Osimhen appearing in black and white next season now seems remote.
