Juventus are giving serious thought to adding a new midfielder in the near future and, like many other sides, are intrigued by Ayyoub Bouaddi, who has earned a regular role at Lille at a very young age. In addition, his contract is up in 2027, which could facilitate his departure, TuttoSport relays.
The 17-year-old has won over coach Bruno Genesio and has collected 43 appearances in the last two seasons, providing 2 assists. He has already featured 61 times with his current side and is a fixture for France U-21.
Juventus have a strong rapport with Lille, which was solidified by the late Edon Zhegrova deal, that could help if they decided to go after Bouaddi. The Bianconeri didn’t replace Douglas Luiz in the summer, albeit he was a fringe contributor. Plus, they are unlikely to renew the expiring contract of Weston McKennie.
The prodigy has been on Milan’s radar for some time. Director Geoffrey Moncada proposed bringing him to San Siro, but Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri preferred other options, especially Ardon Jashari and Adrian Rabiot. The talent has been likened to the latter for his traits and physique.
They’ll need to address the position sooner rather than later, but it’s far from certain they’ll have an adequate budget for it in January. He’s a safe bet to have success long-term, and Igor Tudor isn’t shy in trusting youngsters. It looks more like a summer addition than a January fix, though. They need a proper leader and a quality ball-handler who would help with their balance-related issues and doesn’t require time to adjust to his new surroundings. That’s easier said than done.
