Juventus were left furious after a 3-2 defeat at Inter Milan, the contest overshadowed by Pierre Kalulu’s first-half dismissal. According to L'Équipe, the club hierarchy reacted angrily during and after the match.
Kalulu was sent off for a second booking in the 42nd minute for a challenge on Alessandro Bastoni that Juventus believed was non-existent, reducing the visitors to ten. Inter capitalised and the numerical advantage proved decisive. VAR could not intervene on a yellow-card decision.
Tensions had already spiked at the interval, with Luciano Spalletti, Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini confronting referee Federico La Penna in the tunnel. Spalletti was seen pushing his own general director to prevent a further escalation.
After full-time Juventus boycotted broadcast interviews, instructing players and their head coach not to appear. Comolli and Chiellini addressed the media instead.
Chiellini said there was no point discussing football after what had happened, calling the incident unacceptable and arguing the standard of officiating was unworthy of such a fixture. He added that it reflected poorly on the league and that a response was needed quickly.
Comolli told the squad they had played well but sensed deep frustration among players and staff, a feeling he believed supporters shared. He said talking football made no sense in the circumstances and described events as shameful and hard to accept, insisting the world had seen them.
