Luciano Spalletti’s side are determined to bring Vicario back to Italy after an underwhelming season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Juventus have initiated direct preliminary contacts with Vicario’s representatives to gauge the player’s willingness to return to Italy and hope to capitalise on a period of transition in North London, with manager Roberto De Zerbi actively reshaping the Spurs squad.

While Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez has been Juventus’ top target since the club accepted defeat in their bid to sign Alisson, Juventus are encountering difficulties in completing a deal for the World Cup winner and now appear set to turn to alternative options once again.

For Vicario, the opportunity to make a high-profile move to Juventus and compete for domestic and European silverware is an enticing prospect.

Spurs are open to parting ways with their first-choice goalkeeper, who is contracted until 2028, but the Premier League side have no intention of allowing him to leave for a cut-price fee.

Tottenham’s recruitment department has already begun drawing up a list of potential replacements, including Brighton & Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen, Roma’s Mile Svilar and Manchester City’s James Trafford, indicating they are actively preparing for a possible exit.

With the summer window now in full swing, Juventus are expected to establish formal talks with Tottenham soon to outline the terms of a potential deal for the ‘exceptional’ Vicario.
