Manchester United could rival Liverpool in the transfer market this summer, with both clubs eyeing attacking reinforcements—possibly including a move for Gonçalo Ramos.

Liverpool are reportedly taking a data-driven approach as it assesses potential replacements for Darwin Nunez, and a signing from Paris Saint-Germain isn’t out of the question. The French champions are coming off a historic season, having won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and, for the first time in club history, the Champions League after a 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan. They remain in contention for yet another trophy.

One player who could be on his way out is Ramos. The Portuguese striker tallied 18 goals and six assists across 41 appearances this season, but questions remain about his long-term role in Paris.

According to a previous report from journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Ramos. PSG are reportedly open to selling him, and the 22-year-old has already held discussions with clubs in both Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Ahead of PSG’s second group stage match against Botafogo, Ramos spoke to the media and addressed his future amid the rumors that are circulating with the transfer window officially opening on July 1.

“My situation? I’m very happy here!” Ramos said (h/t Paris Fans). “Everyone talks, but to me, it means nothing! We’re all working together, but we want to win even more trophies!”

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently reignited speculation around Ramos, suggesting the former Benfica striker could become one of the hottest names on the market this summer. Juventus reportedly believe he may look for a new club due to limited opportunities at PSG.

Liverpool are also said to be considering a move, according to Anfield Index. While the 23-year-old isn’t at the top of their wishlist, the report claims he’s being evaluated as part of the club’s data-driven, “Moneyball”-style recruitment strategy.

Ramos joined PSG on a permanent deal following an initial loan spell, with the French club paying €65 million (around £54.7 million) for the Portugal international.
