Juventus and Udinese face off in in the round of 12 in the Coppa Italia this Tuesday at the Allianz Stadium.
The Old Lady won this competition for the 15th time in 2024 and will be confident of reaching the quarter-finals due to their recent record against their opponents.
Juve have won seven of their last eight meetings with Udinese by an aggregate scoreline of 14-2.
Juventus will be without their star forward Dusan Vlahovic after he sustained an injury to his left adductor longus during their recent 2-1 Serie A win over Cagliari. The Serbian striker had to leave the pitch in the 26th minute, and subsequent scans at J|Medical confirmed the severity of the injury. Further assessments are pending, but manager Luciano Spalletti has indicated that Vlahovic is likely to be sidelined for two to three months.
Spalletti expressed his disappointment at the absence of Vlahovic, emphasising the challenge it presents for the team. In his place, Jonathan David and Lois Openda are expected to take on the responsibility of leading the attack on Tuesday.
The Juventus coach is also considering rotating his lineup to manage the squad’s workload across competitions. Players like Edon Zhegrova and Vasilije Adzic are in strong contention to come off the bench. Michele Di Gregorio could return to goal after recovering from a recent absence, while defenders Bremer and Daniele Rugani remain out, with Arkadiusz Milik still on the road to recovery.
On a brighter note, veteran midfielder Filip Kostic is poised to mark his 100th appearance for Juventus if selected, and American midfielder Weston McKennie is on the verge of his 200th appearance. McKennie also holds an impressive record, having been part of eight victories over Udinese across all competitions with Juventus, adding to the team’s confidence ahead of the match.
Possible Juventus starting XI: Perin; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly; Cambiaso, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, Cabal; Zhegrova, Adzic; Openda
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday, 2nd December.
For viewers in the UK, the Coppa Italia clash between Juventus and Udinese will be aired live on Premier Sports.
