Corinthians drew 1-1 with Santos at Vila Belmiro on Sunday in the sixth round of the Brasileiro, as Dorival Júnior handed Kaio César his first start for the club. The forward played 63 minutes, his longest outing in nearly four months.

The last time he stayed on longer was on 25 November 2025, when he started for Al Hilal in a 4-0 win over Al-Shorta Bagdad in the Asian Champions League, playing 70 minutes.

Across nine subsequent appearances for the Saudi side and two for Corinthians, he totalled 128 minutes, an average of 11.6 per match.

Even with only 91 minutes for Timão so far, he already has two assists. He set up Yuri Alberto with a backheel on debut to seal the Supercopa do Brasil title against Flamengo on 1 February, then teed up Memphis Depay to open the scoring in the Clássico Alvinegro.

His momentum might have been greater but he suffered a right thigh injury after 15 minutes of his second game, a 3-0 win over Capivariano on 5 February, and was sidelined for more than a month. After facing Santos he acknowledged he felt the lay-off and was tired during the match.

Kaio César could add to his minutes on Thursday, when Corinthians visit Chapecoense at Arena Condá at 21:30 in the seventh round of the Brasileiro.
