Kane hat-trick wins DFB Cup to complete double! | OneFootball

FC Bayern beat VfB Stuttgart 3-0 in the DFB Cup final to claim the domestic double. After an intense but goalless first half, Harry Kane bagged a hat-trick to earn Bayern their 21st DFB Cup triumph and 14th domestic double.

Bayern started with Jonas Urbig in goal and Josip Stanišić, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer in defence. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović anchored a midfield featuring Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Luis Díaz, with Kane up front. Lennart Karl, Leon Goretzka, Hiroki Ito, Raphaël Guerreiro and Tom Bischof took over from Musiala, Pavlović, Stanišić, Olise and Laimer in the second half.

Goalless at half-time

Bayern enjoyed more of the ball, but Stuttgart got off to the better start, with Urbig denying Deniz Undav before Angelo Stiller fired over. Maximilian Mittelstädt hit the side-netting and saw another effort denied by Urbig’s fine save.

Bayern soon found their feet, but Stuttgart were solid at the back. VfB goalkeeper Alexander Nübel saved from Díaz, with Kane seeing a shot blocked as an intense first-half tactical skirmish produced no goals.

Kane the hat-trick hero

An Olise pass found Kane, who lost his balance, but Kimmich’s free-kick soon released Olise, whose cross invited Kane to score the opener with a diving header. Nübel parried a Díaz effort, with Laimer failing to make the most of the rebound.

Munich doubled their advantage when Kane’s shot crashed off the crossbar, but Díaz teed up the Englishman, who produced a fine first touch and turn to guide home on the spin. Olise’s shot was deflected wide, but Bayern were awarded a penalty for handball in added time for Kane to convert and round off only the fourth hat-trick in DFB Cup final history and bring Bayern their first DFB Cup triumph since 2020.

Several players will feature in the 2026 World Cup before the start of the pre-season in July and the Audi Summer Tour in August.
