Kang In Lee has joined Atlético de Madrid after an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain. The club said in a statement that he has signed until 30 June 2031. The fee is around 40 million euros, split between fixed and add-ons, with Valencia CF due solidarity payments from FIFA.

The 25-year-old left-footer can play as a No 10 or from either flank, noted for vision, close control and passing.

Born in Incheon on 19 February 2001, he joined Valencia CF’s academy and debuted on 30 October 2018 in the Copa del Rey, which Valencia won. He made 62 appearances before moving to Real Mallorca in August 2021, adding 73 in two seasons.

He joined PSG in summer 2023 and played 124 times, scoring 16 and assisting 16. He won two Champions Leagues, the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, plus three Ligue 1 titles, two Cups and two Super Cups of France.

He led South Korea to runners-up at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup, winning the Golden Ball, and claimed 2023 Asian Games gold after a 2-1 final against Japan. He debuted for the seniors on 5 September 2019 against Georgia, a 2-2 draw, and now has 50 caps, most recently at the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
