Following campaign events at the men’s home game against Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena and the basketball team's EuroLeague match against Dubai, FC Bayern brought the ‘International Weeks Against Racism’ to a close with numerous activities at FC Bayern Women's 2-0 win against 1. FC Nürnberg at the Campus. Ahead of kick-off, lots of visitors including Austria international Katharina Naschenweng and long-serving manager Karin Danner, now an official member of the FC Bayern Legends stopped by the popular information stand of FCB's ‘Red against Racism’ initiative.
Ahead of kick-off, both teams took up position together behind a banner with the matchday motto, and the FCB women including Glodis Viggosdottir, Giulia Gwinn and Pernille Harder also wore special warm-up shirts with the 'Red against Racism' slogan, just like the men had done against Union Berlin. Selected shirts from the entire campaign period will be signed and auctioned off, with the proceeds going to organisations committed to diversity. For the first time, members of the FC Bayern volunteer programme ‘PACK MA'S’ were on hand to support ‘Red against Racism’, and they took part in a quiz specially developed by the initiative. To round off the day, everyone watched FC Bayern Women's game in the stands of the Campus stadium - the 2-0 win with goals from Edna Imade and Natalia Padilla Bidas was a great way to get in the mood for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against English giants Manchester United on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena. Kick-off is at 18:45 CEST and over 20,000 tickets have already been sold.
