Newcastle United will be looking to secure back-to-back Premier League wins when they visit Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The Magpies ended their five-game winless run in the English top-flight by beating Arsenal 1-0 at St James’ Park last weekend.
Eddie Howe’s side produced an excellent display in front of their own fans. Alexander Isak scored an early goal and that proved enough to secure maximum points for the hosts.
Newcastle now face a difficult trip to the City Ground to take on Forest who will enter the fixture on the back of three consecutive victories.
Former Manchester United star Roy Keane has backed the Tyneside club to pick up a draw in Saturday’s game.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, he said: “There’s always a mad result at the weekend. Forest can’t keep this run going”.
Keane predicted a 1-1 or 2-2 draw, and Ian Wright agreed with him.
“2-2, it’s going to be a draw,” the former Arsenal forward said.
Newcastle have had a mixed start to the season. After winning four of their 10 matches, they are currently sitting 11th in the league standings with 15 points.
The Magpies suffered two demoralising defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea last month.
However, confidence in their camp is expected to be high after successive wins over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Arsenal in the English top-flight.
Eddie Howe is unlikely to make any changes to the team that played against the Gunners.
Joelinton suffered an injury scare when he came off midway through the second-half, but there is no suggestion he will not be available for Sunday’s game.
