In the event Manchester United fail to get a deal over the line for Benjamin Sesko and he opts for a Newcastle United move, Nicolas Jackson could be headed for Old Trafford.
Indeed, the Red Devils will view Jackson as one of their final solutions to bolster Ruben Amorim’s frontline after a summer of unsuccessful pursuits.
The same can also be said for Newcastle if they miss out on Sesko; they could turn to the Chelsea forward to replace the seemingly Liverpool-bound Alexander Isak, who’s already informed the board of his desire to explore alternative options.

There’s no doubt that, at this stage, Sesko is INEOS’ first-choice target.
United’s interest is being spearheaded by former Red Bull chief Christopher Vivell, despite Amorim reportedly favouring a move for the more proven option in the form of Ollie Watkins. Aston Villa, however, are unwilling to part ways with their prolific talisman.
Sesko, 22, is certainly more of a long-term investment, given he’s only plyed his trade in Austria and Germany and is still far from the finished product. What fans – and the club – will want to avoid is a situation akin to Rasmus Hojlund’s, where he has struggled considerably to make his mark on the English top flight, scoring only four goals last season.
As for Jackson, he has been linked with an Old Trafford switch in recent weeks after Chelsea invested heavily in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, both of whom impressed at the Club World Cup.
The new arrivals have left the ‘unbelievable’ Senegal star facing an uncertain future whereby his game time looks likely to be slashed throughout the forthcoming term.
Chelsea’s longstanding interest in Alejandro Garnacho does provide a potential route for an agreement to be reached between all parties, as suggested by Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday evening.
“If Sesko goes to Manchester United, Jackson could be an option for Newcastle or, if Sesko goes to Newcastle, keep an eye on Jackson because, obviously, Chelsea appreciate Garnacho, and that could be one of the last-minute solutions,” said Romano via his YouTube channel.
