City winger Kerolin says she’s excited to be back out on the pitch after playing a starring role in the Blues’ 3-0 win over Leicester.
The Brazilian was introduced from the bench with the game still at 0-0 but grabbed a goal and assist on her return to action to help City grab a ninth WSL win in a row.
It was Kerolin’s first involvement since a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in September, but her lively cameo from the bench proved the difference, as she set up Shaw’s first before firing home the game’s final goal after being fed by the Jamaican.
It was a special return to action for the winger, and one she felt was aided by the level her team-mates have been hitting during her absence.
“I was really happy and excited to be back,” she began.
“I think when the team’s playing well, confident and winning games, it’s easy to come back and enjoy it. I just tried to enjoy it and help the team.

“First of all, I gave one to Bunny and she gave one back to me, so I needed to score when I had the chance!
“It was really good to be back and scoring goals, it just gives me confidence and shows we’re moving in the right way.”
The win extended City’s lead at the top of the WSL table to six points, with Chelsea potentially closing that gap back to three if they beat Everton later on Sunday.
Victory at Leicester was our ninth in ten matches, our best-ever start to a WSL campaign at this stage in the season.
Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz has consistently stressed the importance of the entire squad across 2025/26 and, if City are to compete for top honours this season, Kerolin agrees with the boss’ sentiments.
“I think Andrée’s doing a really good job in terms of rotating and also explaining what he wants for us,” she added.
“It keeps everyone confident because we know everyone’s going to play and also to win the league, we need everybody.
“I think everyone’s on the same page. We have a lot of good players with lots of different quality so we just need to keep it going and listen to Andrée about what we can be better.”
