La Liga outfit Athletic Club will be forced to make do without a leading member of the club’s attacking ranks in their return to action on the continent this week.

The player in question? Nico Williams.

Athletic are primed to shift focus back towards matters in Europe on Wednesday night.

In their 2nd outing of the new Champions League campaign, the Basque outfit will make the trip to Germany, for a meeting with Borussia Dortmund.

Ernesto Valverde’s troops head into the matchup eyeing a first points haul of the European season, after being put to the sword by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal two weeks ago.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards as much, Athletic will be forced to make do without a crucial member of their frontline.

Amid his ongoing injury absence, Nico Williams has again not been called up for the trip to Signal Iduna Park.
