Defender Andrea Cambiaso is still an injury doubt ahead of Sunday’s Derbt d’Italia clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 24-year-old is facing a race against time ahead of clashes with Inter and PSV.

Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso has been on the sidelines for the past couple weeks.

The former Genoa and Bologna full-back has suffered a recurrence of an ankle problem.

Among the matches that Cambiaso has missed was Tuesday’s crunch Champions League round of sixteen playoff against PSV.

This Sunday, Juventus face a massive match in the form of the Derby d’Italia against Inter in Serie A.

The last meeting between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri ended in a spectacular 4-4 draw.

Then, next Wednesday, Juventus play the second leg of their Champions League playoff against PSV.

And defender Andrea Cambiaso is not too far away from returning. His availability would certainly be a big boost.

However, it is far from certain at this stage when the Italian international will be back.

Therefore, there is still a lot of doubt that Cambiaso will be available against Inter on Sunday.
