Khiara Keating says City just have to move onto the next game following our defeat to Chelsea.

Nick Cushing’s side fell to a 2-1 loss at the Etihad Stadium in a gripping battle between the two sides who have now faced each other three times in eight days.

After an excellent first-half display, City found ourselves in front with a spectacular goal from Kerolin Nicoli to open the deadlock.

It looked as if Jess Park had doubled the lead, but her strike came after Kerolin was caught by Millie Bright on the edge of the box with the referee blowing her whistle to pull it back for a free-kick.

A heroic second-half performance saw us battle tooth and nail, but the Londoners found a way through, with Aggie Beever-Jones scoring in the 49th minute and substitute Erin Cuthbert nicking all three points with an injury-time winner.

Speaking to BBC Sport post-match, Keating admits it was a cruel way to lose, but agrees we have to move on to focus on the next fixture, another clash with Chelsea in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The goalkeeper said: “I think you always come into these games wanting to win and do your part for the team. We held on for so long but I’m proud of the team and our performance.

“Obviously we know the outcome, no points from this but the mindset doesn’t change, we still aim for the Champions League.”

“It’s a tough one to take, we have to focus on the Champions League now and get into the semis, we didn’t get the three points so onto the next.

“I think we’re halfway there, we know it’ll be tough and take everyone, but we believe in ourselves and know what we can do as a club.”
