Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia returns to PSG’s starting XI for the year’s first outing, the Trophée des Champions against Marseille. Amine Gouiri also starts for OM after a long injury lay-off.
He was rested on Sunday after a knock in PSG’s 2-1 win over Paris FC. According to L'Équipe, it is the main change for Thursday’s 2025 showpiece in Kuwait City, kick-off 19:00.
With Matveï Safonov still out with a fractured left hand, Luis Enrique keeps faith with Lucas Chevalier and chooses Marquinhos ahead of Illia Zabarnyi to partner Willian Pacho. Warren Zaïre-Emery and Nuno Mendes retain their defensive roles, and the Vitinha, J. Neves and F. Ruiz midfield remains unchanged.
PSG starting XI: Chevalier, Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos (captain), Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, J. Neves, F. Ruiz, D. Doué, O. Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
For OM, Roberto De Zerbi has made minimal changes after Sunday’s 0-2 defeat by Nantes. Algeria international Gouiri, sidelined since October and impressive in recent sessions, is picked ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the line.
Captain Leonardo Balerdi also returns in defence, with Geoffrey Kondogbia back in midfield. Benjamin Pavard and Facundo Medina continue at the back, Timothy Weah and Emerson Palmieri keep their wing roles, Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg stays in midfield and Mason Greenwood and Igor Paixao remain in attack.
OM starting XI: Rulli, Pavard, Balerdi (captain), Medina, Weah, Höjbjerg, Kondogbia, Emerson, Greenwood, Gouiri, Paixao.
