Kilmarnock upset Hearts as Schjønning-Larsen strikes early | OneFootball

Kilmarnock beat Hearts 1-0 at Rugby Park, felling the league leaders.

In the 17th minute Michael Schjønning-Larsen turned in a left-footed finish from very close range for the decisive goal.

Kelle Roos was sharp, denying Cláudio Braga with an early header and later pushing away a low drive as Hearts chased an equaliser.

The Jambos lost Tómas Magnússon to injury before the interval, then introduced Islam Chesnokov after the break. They pressed through Blair Spittal's deliveries and Braga's aerial threat, but their finishing drifted off target and Roos stayed secure.

Six minutes of stoppage time were indicated, and Chesnokov was booked late as Kilmarnock's defence held firm.

Kilmarnock produced 11 attempts, hitting four on target despite 38.3% possession. Hearts registered 15 attempts, controlled 61.7% of the ball and forced nine corners, but found no breakthrough.

Next, Kilmarnock host Livingston in the Premiership. Hearts host Dundee next.
