Antonin Kinsky has committed his future to Tottenham Hotspur by signing a new five-year contract.

The deal, which carries an option to extend until June 2032, confirms his rise to first-choice goalkeeper under Roberto De Zerbi. It also comes with a significant pay rise.

His turnaround has been remarkable. Kinsky started just twice under Thomas Frank last season, then endured a chastening afternoon against Atletico Madrid.

Handed a rare start, he was hauled off after only 17 minutes with Spurs 3-0 down.

De Zerbi’s arrival changed everything. With Guglielmo Vicario sidelined by hernia surgery, the Italian turned to the Czech and was rewarded.

Kinsky produced a string of fine displays in the closing weeks, keeping Spurs up by a slender margin.

His saves proved decisive. Important stops against Leeds and Wolves helped a struggling side survive by just two points, cementing the manager’s faith.

That trust has now been reflected in his new terms. The contract has clear knock-on effects.

Vicario, once the undisputed number one, is expected to leave this summer, with a return to Serie A looking likely. Juventus and Napoli are among the clubs credited with interest.

The decision also makes financial sense. By promoting Kinsky from within, Spurs avoid spending upwards of £50m on a new goalkeeper.

Those funds can instead be directed towards other areas of De Zerbi’s rebuild. Cover has already been arranged.

Tottenham have signed experienced former Newcastle stopper Martin Dubravka to provide competition and back up their new first choice.

The 23-year-old ruled himself out of this summer’s World Cup to undergo a minor medical procedure, choosing instead to focus on cementing his place at club level.
