Köln ‘set’ €50 million price for Said El Mala amid Brighton and Chelsea interest

Köln have placed a hefty valuation on Said El Mala amid interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea.

Sport Bild reports that Köln have set a €50 million price, and that Brighton, despite a verbal agreement with the 19-year-old, may now cool their pursuit as they are unwilling to exceed €35 million plus bonuses.

A Premier League move could still materialise, with Chelsea said to be ready to offer €45 million to take the German youngster to England.

El Mala is currently represented by his parents, and his family have held preliminary talks with an experienced agent who could lead new negotiations.

The winger recently scored the opener for Germany U21 in their 2-0 win over Greece on Tuesday.
