Randal Kolo Muani says that he is ‘proud’ to be at a ‘legendary’ club like Juventus, and has explained how Thiago Motta managed to convince him to move to Turin from Paris Saint-Germain.

Juventus have officially announced the signing of the Frenchman on a six-month loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 season. It is a straight loan deal with no buy option included, so the player will return to the Parc des Princes in June whatever happens over the remainder of the season.

Kolo Muani has been in Italy for several days already and has already trained with his teammates for the first time, but Juve had to wait to announce his arrival due to an administrative issue in Paris.

PSG has reached the limit for the number of players they are allowed to have out on loan at a foreign club at any one time (six) and therefore had to either sell, recall or terminate the contract of one of their current loanees.

That issue has since been resolved and Kolo Muani is now officially a Juventus player.

Kolo Muani gives first interview as a Juventus player

“I’m very, very happy to be here at this legendary club. I’m proud to wear these colours and play in front of the fans,” the France international said during his first interview with the club.

Asked which players from Juventus’s long list of French players he admires the most, he said: “There are lots of French players who have made history here. Zinedine Zidane, of course, David Trezeguet is another one I like a lot. A bit closer to our time, there’s Paul Pogba and also Khephren Thuram is doing very well here, so I’m delighted to be here.”

He also revealed what Thiago Motta said to convince him to join the Bianconeri: “I’ve been chatting for a while with the coach, he told me about the style of play here and that made me want to sign here. I can’t wait to start training and get out on the pitch.”

What position does he believe he suits best?

“I don’t have a preference between the two, I just prefer to be on the pitch,” he replied. “I’ll play wherever the coach puts me. If I had to choose, I would say as a centre-forward, that’s where I can express myself best.”

There was also a final greeting for the Juventus supporters: “I hope to see you soon in the stadium, ciao ciao.”
