Some might say Kylian Mbappé took Lionel Messi's performance for Argentina earlier today personally.

We were treated to a stellar display by one of the game's all-time greats a matter of hours ago, and less than 15 minutes into France's Group I match against Iraq, the French forward is already producing a performance to rival it.
Mbappé picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled a delightful effort into the net, scoring his 15th World Cup goal for Les Bleus, becoming the fastest player in tournament history to reach that mark, needing just 16 matches to do so.
In doing so, he moves past Gerd Müller and draws level with Brazilian legend Ronaldo in the all-time World Cup scoring charts (15).
Only Miroslav Klose (16) and Messi (18) have scored more World Cup goals.
Mbappé also continues a remarkable run of goal contributions on the world stage, registering 17 goals and assists in his last 16 World Cup matches.
Considering the Frenchman is only 27, just how many more World Cup goals will he score?
