A Catalan on Real Madrid's shortlist for head coach

Real Madrid is already exploring several coaching options ahead of next season.

Interim coach Álvaro Arbeloa is unlikely to be retained, mainly due to his lack of experience both domestically and in European competitions.

According to multiple sources, the Merengues have three candidates in their sights: Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, German Jürgen Klopp, and Spaniard Cesc Fàbregas.

The Zidane option appears unlikely, especially as he is tipped to succeed Didier Deschamps as France national team manager. Meanwhile, no agreement has been reached with Klopp, though developments are expected in the coming weeks.

This situation could benefit the Catalan Fàbregas, who made a strong impression during his stint with Italian club Como.

As a reminder, Real Madrid will face Manchester City on Wednesday in the Champions League round of 16.
