Ansu Fati’s time at FC Barcelona seems to be running out. Once hailed as the natural heir to Lionel Messi, the 22-year-old has been unable to live up to expectations due to a string of injuries and inconsistent performances.
As a result, Barcelona’s sporting department has decided not to include him in their plans for next season and are now open to listening to offers.
The Blaugrana were willing to sanction an exit in January but the forward refused to leave as he wanted to fight for a place in Hansi Flick’s team.
However, it has since become clear that Ansu does not have a part in the German’s plans for the future. As such, he has accepted his fate and is now ready to move on in the summer.
Now, according to Fichajes, among the clubs showing strong interest are Sevilla.

The Andalusian side had already tried to sign Ansu in the past, but negotiations fell through due to Barcelona’s financial demands and the player’s reluctance to leave, as he still believed he could succeed at the club.
The current scenario is very different. Ansu Fati, after returning from his loan spell at Premier League side Brighton, has failed to establish himself as a regular starter or make a significant impact.
As such, Sevilla now see a fresh opportunity to push for his signing. Their strategy involves convincing the player to put pressure on Barcelona to facilitate a move to the Sanchez-Pizjuan.
The operation will not be straightforward given the strained relationship between the two clubs as well as the Andalusian outfit’s financial situation.
However, a promise of a central role in the project he has been missing in recent years might well convince Fati to make the jump.
