Lazio have reportedly booked Villarreal full-back Alfonso Pedraza for next season, when he’ll be able to sign as a free agent.
The Biancocelesti’s interest in the 29-year-old came to light earlier this week. The Spaniard is a well-rounded left-back, who should be able to smoothly immerse himself in Maurizio Sarri’s plans. The Spaniard is a youth product of Villarreal, but his time at El Madrigal should come to an end once his contract expires in June.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Pedraza already has an agreement in principle with Lazio, who will be able to sign him on a free transfer in the summer. Nevertheless, the Aquile will attempt to advance the player’s arrival to January, but they will have to find an accord with the Yellow Submarines.

Therefore, it appears that Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani would be willing to spend a modest sum to sign the Spanish full-back this month. However, if Villarreal request a considerable fee, Lazio will have to wait until the summer to welcome the former Leeds United and Real Betis loanee.
On a related note, the Biancocelesti are working on offloading Nuno Tavares, who has suitors in Saudi Arabia in the shape of Al-Ittihad. The parties have been working on a deal, and it remains to be seen if the Portuguese international will end up joining Sergio Conceicao’s ranks.
If Tavares ends up leaving Formello and Lazio fail to bring in Pedraza in January, Sarri might decide to reintegrate his old pupil, Elseid Hysaj, into his plans to act as an understudy for Luca Pellegrini on the left flank.
