Lamine Yamal injury update before Barcelona’s trip to Newcastle | OneFootball

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has come to the fore online.

This of course comes after the 18-year-old was forced to sit out his side’s meeting with Valencia on Sunday.

Barcelona made official last week that their prodigious young winger had suffered an injury setback during his time on international duty with Spain.

The attacker, in turn, has spent recent days undergoing treatment at the Blaugrana’s base.

As much did not prove enough for Lamine to be cleared to face Valencia, though hope had remained that a speedy recovery could yet culminated in him being given the medical green light to face Newcastle this week.

Barca are primed to kick their European campaign into gear with a trip to St. James’ Park on Thursday.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then Lamine playing any part looks highly unlikely.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Lamine Yamal has been undergoing treatment outside the group and at this point, barring a miracle, he is not expected to be able to take part in FC Barcelona ‘s European debut.’
