Chelsea could yet sign another striker, but they are also looking for a centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea hesitating over Hugo Ekitike move

With Delap through the door that hasn’t stopped Chelsea being linked with further attackers and the strongest links have been with Ekitike.

Frankfurt are said to value the 22-year-old at €100m, a price Chelsea aren’t thought to be prepared to pay at this stage.

Ekitike scored 22 goals last season and Chelsea are said to be pushing to reach a verbal agreement with the France under-21 international.

The Blues are said to hold an advantage over Liverpool in the Ekitike race, but German publication Bild have reported Chelsea are now hesitating over a move.

The report adds the Blues value Ekitike at around £67m, but Frankfurt are demanding £84m, whilst a full agreement before Tuesday cant’t officially be ruled out.

Bild state at this point there’s been no contact or offer for Ekitike this weekend, but if the Blues want him at the Club World Cup a deal needs to be done before June 10th.

Mohammed Kudus a target

Ekitike won’t be the only name on Chelsea’s list and the Blues have also been offered the chance to sign West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus.

Chelsea were linked with Kudus back in 2023 when he was at Ajax and the Ghana international has an £85m clause for Premier League clubs.

It’s unlikely Chelsea would be prepared to pay that price, but the Blues could look to offer players like Robert Sanchez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to try and get a deal done.
