Liverpool are set for a busy summer transfer window after losing a number of key players at the end of the season, with more potentially heading out the door.

A disappointing campaign, which ended with a fifth-place finish in the Premier League and without a trophy, will doubtlessly lead to soul searching about the club’s direction and how they rectify it.

Andoni Iraola has already replaced Arne Slot in the dugout, but where will Liverpool look to improve their squad? After spending a record £450 million on new signings last year, there is curiosity over how much cash they are willing to throw around this summer. But a lot of the stories surrounding them at the moment concern potential exits.

Latest Liverpool transfer news:

Bayern want Ngumoha

Bayern Munich are “considering” a move for Rio Ngumoha this summer, according to The Athletic. The Bavarian club was to strengthen their attack and have made the teenager their “main target” for the left flank after missing out on Anthony Gordon. He joined Barcelona from Newcastle United for £69 million last week.

Ngumoha is “aware of Bayern’s strong interest and intentions”, but Bayern are yet to make contact with Liverpool, who are adamant he is “not for sale”. They are looking to add options to their attack, “not diminish them”.

The 17-year-old is contracted to the Reds until 2028 after signing his first professional terms in September.

Chiesa considers Liverpool exit

Federico Chiesa may look to leave Liverpool this summer in search of regular gametime elsewhere. The Italian says he will speak with new Andoni Iraola ahead of next season after making just one Premier League start under Arne Slot last season.

“I want to play and if I don’t find continuity in the Premier League I’ll need to find it elsewhere,” Chiesa told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“This season just gone, I got next to no minutes. I’ll go to the U.S. for pre-season then I’ll talk to the club and Iraola and we’ll see.”

Chiesa revealed the club told him he could not leave in the January transfer window due to a lack of forward options. He added that he’s “open to everything”, including a return to Italy.

Liverpool make Diomande approach

Multiple reports claim that Liverpool have made contact with RB Leipzig over a potential deal for Yan Diomande, who could arrive as a replacement for the departing Mo Salah.

The Merseyside outfit have registered their interest in the winger, though no offer has been made. Manchester City and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the 19-year-old, who scored 12 goals and created eight assists in the Bundesliga last season.

Diomande has previously said he would like to play for PSG, while Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Jones curious about Italy

Chiesa revealed some information about his Liverpool teammates in that same interview about his own future.

Curtis Jones asked the Italy international about life in his native homeland amid reports he could leave Anfield, with Inter Milan reportedly working on a deal to sign him.

“All he asked me was what life is like in Italy,” Chiesa said. “I told him it’s great and the weather is better than in Liverpool which, other than that, is a special place. Jones, technically, is a really good player. Inter would do well to think about signing him.”

Chiesa added that he expects Alisson Becker to remain at Liverpool. Juventus have made the goalkeeper one of their summer targets.

“From what I hear, he’s staying in England. Then let’s see. We’re talking about one of the top five goalkeepers on the planet. He’s a fantastic leader. He’s won everything and makes the difference on the pitch and in the dressing room.”

Robertson joins Spurs

Andy Robertson has signed for Tottenham Hotspur after his nine-year stay at Liverpool came to an end last month. The left-back will join Spurs on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this month.
