Celtic FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Lauren Doran-Barr!
The defender has become the latest player to sign up for the 2026/27 campaign, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.Lauren is a player who arrives with plenty of experience in Scottish football, having initially turned out for Stirling University in 2018.A move to Motherwell then came in 2019, with the full-back excelling before a long-term injury ruled her out for the 2020/21 season.
But after returning from injury, her form in her time with the club saw Doran-Barr earn a move to Hibernian in the summer of 2023, which saw her work with current boss Grant Scott.
Across the three seasons at the club she played a key role for the Hibees working under Scott, playing her part in helping the club lift their first SWPL title in 18 years.
During her time there she also gained European experience after that SWPL title triumph.
After making the move to Glasgow, she said: “I'm delighted. Celtic's obviously a massive club, so as soon as I knew that the opportunity was there, it was too good to turn down.
‘I'm really excited to be here and looking forward to getting started.’
“I think in terms of the ambition for the team and what they're looking to achieve, I think really aligned with what I'm looking to do in my career as well.
“So yeah there were no doubts that this was the right move for me and yeah I'm happy to be here.”
Grant Scott said: “I’m delighted to bring Lauren to Celtic. She’s a player I’ve worked with before and is a proven winner who knows what it takes to compete week in, week out in this league.
“She’s a composed defender who will add real strength to our defensive options.”
Welcome to Celtic, Lauren!
