Layún sees Neves, Dalot and Sá again: “Football gave me friends for life”

Miguel Layún represented FC Porto between 2015 and 2018 and, during that period, shared the pitch with José Sá, Diogo Dalot and Rúben Neves, among other players he met again during the Portuguese national team’s time in Mexico. The former Mexican full-back met up with the Portuguese at a hotel and ended up receiving two match shirts.

“Football has given me many things. But the friendships it left me with… those are for life. I couldn’t be this close and not stop by to see them. This is what I miss most about that world,” wrote Layún, 37, on social media.
