Lazio begin Formello pre-season, full squad named | OneFootball

Lazio opened pre-season at Formello on Monday, according to The Laziali. Six friendlies precede the Coppa Italia opener against Mantova on August 16.

With Ivan Provedel joining Inter Milan, Christos Mandas is expected to be number one and Edoardo Motta his deputy. Alesio Furlanetto is out, so Davide Renzetti steps up.

At centre-back, sales of Mario Gila to AC Milan and Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd leave Patric, Samuel Gigot and Oliver Provstgaard, plus prospects Ricardo Bordon and Blaz Kovac. The club are closing in on Sergi Dominguez and Danilho Doekhi, and have rekindled interest in Diogo Leite.

Full-back is crowded. Alfonso Pedraza joins Nuno Tavares and Manuel Pellegrini on the left, while Romano Floriani Mussolini could understudy Adam Marusic on the right, which could push Manuel Lazzari out the door.

In midfield, Toma Basic has joined Venezia and Danilo Cataldi is recovering from groin surgery. Nicolo Rovella and Kenneth Taylor should lead, with Reda Belahyane and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru aiming to step up. Adrian Przyborek is well regarded, while Bruno Galassi and Valerio Falcomeni are unlikely to feature when the season starts.

In attack, Pedro has said farewell ahead of a possible retirement, Daniel Maldini has returned to Atalanta and Gustav Isaksen is sidelined after groin surgery. Gabriele Artistico and 20-year-old Federico Serra join Matteo Cancellieri, Boulaye Dia, Tijjani Noslin, Petar Ratkov and captain Mattia Zaccagni while reinforcements are awaited.
