Lazio coach Marco Baroni has been rotating his starting lineup since the start of the season, but it appears he’ll be looking to confirm almost the same personnel for the Atalanta clash.
Following the horrendous defeat at the hands of Inter Milan, the Biancocelesti bounced back with a slim yet vital victory away from home against Lecce. Adam Marusic came off the bench to end the resistance of the 10-man Giallorossi, beating the formidable Wladimiro Falcone with a dashing volley from the edge of the area.
So according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the outcome of the Via del Mare contest will heavily impact Baroni’s selections, as Marusic is now expected to get the nod ahead of Manuel Lazzari at right-back in the big showdown against Atalanta. The two players have been alternating in this role since the start of the season. But while the Italian seemingly had a slight edge in the big contests, the Montenegrin’s heroics in Lecce should earn him a starting berth on Saturday.
Nevertheless, the source believes this will be the solitary change to the starting lineup, as the other 10 spots should remain intact. This means Ivan Provedel will expectedly start in goal, with Alessio Romagnoli, Mario Gila and Nuno Tavares completing the backline. Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi will maintain their spots in midfield, keeping Gaetano Castrovilli and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru on the bench.
Taty Castellanos will lead the charge once more, supported by Gustav Isaksen, Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni, while Tijjani Noslin and Pedro are unlikely to recover in time, thus leaving Baroni with limited options in attack.
Lazio (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni; Castellanos
